Baked Rigatoni

I fed Camryn (and Jaelynne) baked rigatoni tonight. TJ was at his grad class in Grand Rapids. When i fed Jaely baked rigatoni for the first time (pictures here), it was so much different, even though she was the same age. I was a stay at home mom with one child. I didn't care if Jaely covered herself in it to the point where a calming, bedtime bath was a must.

Tonight, after I worked a full day of moving furniture and attempting to organize my classroom, I raced out of there to pick the girls up from daycare and then got dinner ready. Jaely was wanting more cantaloup and milk. I was trying to feed myself and Cami and Jaely. Camryn enjoyed the baked rigatoni so much that she too covered herself in it. She, for the first time ever, stuck her dirty hands all over her hair and the top of her head. She stuck her fingers in her ear and in her nose. It was everywhere. Now, this is where it gets very different because i am tired from working all day and i have two kids that need to bathe, get their jammies on and go to bed simultaneously. I have one child who can virtually do everything herself except wash her hair and put her night time diaper on. She only wants to do it by "herselp" when you don't have time to wait for her to do it or when she is feeling very independent. She refuses to do anything "herselp" when Camryn is getting more attention or when she knows you need her to be more independent. So tonight, she can't seem to do anything "herselp" to help out. Camryn can't do anything herself except eat bubbles and poop in the bath. I even have to try to nurse her before bedtime in a quiet, non-distracting place while i have a three year old running around naked with a frog towel flowing from her head.

Baked Rigatoni sure is different when i am a working mom and have a three year old. I missed my partner tonight. We help each other out. . . a lot.
